Adblock Plus Filter List

One of my favourite Mozilla Firefox extensions is Adblock Plus by Wladimir Palant. It will filter out advertisements on webpages to make the Internet a bit more pleasant again. If you are using Firefox you can install the extension via the Adblock Plus site.

Make sure to use the latest version of Adblock Plus (at least 1.1), so websites cannot easily detect the presence of the extension and whine about lost revenues.

If you have Adblock Plus installed, you can subscribe to the tor.ch banlist list using this link. The list is not very aggressive and filters only the most annoying ads, such as the ones from Google. The filterlist can be viewed here.
